    When they lunge they are going to cause damage if the angle created by their legs is less than a right angle. Also although this may make you thighs stronger It will give you major thunder thighs through holding the plie and bouncing in it. There are other ways that many ballet dancers use that develop the muscle with out bulking up the thighs such as holding developpes and doing in multiple plies(controlled and strong coming up as soon as you hit the bottom of the plie)

    Looks like a good dance workout, but these aren’t technically plyometrics. Plyometrics are repeated jump and stretch cycles, like jumping down from a box into a squat, then immediately jumping back up onto the box. Just buy a book on plyometrics and incorporate the exercises that are relevant to dance into your dance. There are also safety concerns with doing plyometrics, namely, if you aren’t strong enough (deadlift and squat ~1.5 times your weight), you will damage your joints.

    my dance teacher does those with us. I think it really helps, but it burns my muscles. my thigh muscles are so weak .

  9. when you do the …
    when you do the lunges you need to make sure your knees do not exceed over your toes….you will eventually tear you ligaments.
