I’m going to be living at the beach this summer and doing a 15 week jump training program called AirAlert. This is an intense program that can be hard on the knees, would it be safer to perform the jumps on the sand, or should i stick to a traditional hardwood basketball court?

If you can do sand or water training…DO IT!! As a ball player you are going to have enough stress on your joints. If you can do a training system on sand (a better surface to develop explosive muscles than hardwood) do it. Plus, the sand provides a natural resistance that will allow you to grow beyond expectations.
