How do I jump higher? And what is the proper way to land a jump?
I want to learn how to jump higher. How can I practice jumping higher?
And also how to people normally land jumps? On their toes or on the heels?
By toes, I mean on the balls of your feet.
Jumping alone will increase your vertical jump (which is why many basketball players have high vertical leaps without ever training for it), although it is much more effective to start a program specifically designed to increase power – usually consisting of a combination of weightlfiting and plyometrics. I actually found a website, http://www.jump101.info , dedicated solely to jumping higher.
It’s best to land on the balls of the feet and very awkward to land on the heels. Landing on the heels can actually set you up for injury. Make sure that when you land you also bend your knees.
Hope this helps,
James T.

you need to bend and use all the power from your legs to jump high…

I was asking the same question! What ultimately helped me was a book called the Jump Manual E Book, it includes videos, printable workouts, and pictures.
It also ahs access to the Jumpers Forum where you can chat with others etc.
The main guy is there to help with unlimited one-on-one email coaching as well.
It all depends on how serious you are, but it’s helped me add 4 inches to my verticle in 2 weeks so far..
Good luck!
